Authorized Appliance Servicenter of VT was founded in 1978 by Bill Borger.
Bill's background was in the domestic appliance industry where he specialized in sales. From sales he directed his field to service management. In 1974 he became the New England Regional Manager for the Proctor - Silex Company. It was during this time that Bill realized the need for a service company in this region. Thus Bill resigned and formed Authorized Appliance Servicenter of Vermont.
Originally Authorized Appliance Servicenter was a sales and service company for domestic appliances, located in downtown Rutland, VT. During this time we were exposed to the commercial food equipment though a juice equipment program. Customers began bringing in their small commercial equipment for us to repair. With the continual requests for commercial service, we purchased our first vehicle to explore the potential of field service for the commercial industry.
In 1988 our facility was no longer adequate. We purchased a 17,000 square foot facility in a light industrial area of Rutland, VT.
With our continuing growth in the commercial food equipment service industry we realized the needs of our customers are more then just the repair of their equipment, it is total customer satisfaction, from the time the call is placed for parts or service to the completion of the call. In order to provide this service our technical and parts staff are factory trained.

In 1988 we joined the Commercial Food Equipment Service Association. As a member of CFESA, our goal as a commercial food equipment servicer is to provide the highest level of professionalism, efficiency and total customer satisfaction. Our technicians are not only factory trained they are CFESA trained and then certified in gas, electric and steam.

Our continuing goal to provide total customer satisfaction has lead to our representation of over 40 manufacturers in Vermont, NH, Western Mass, Upstate NY and Maine.

Bill's strong commitment to the commercial food equipment industry, has lead him to participate in various manufacturers service councils. In the later end on 2000. Bill was elected to serve on the Board of Directors for CFESA (Commercial Food Equipment Service Association).

As a Vermont based organization we strongly support and promote Vermont.
